A note from Miranda: As my time at FNVW comes to a close, and I reflect on this bittersweet transition, I feel nothing but gratitude for my time at this organization. I moved to Minnesota in August 2019 to start my year as a Quaker Voluntary Service Fellow and then stepped into a staff capacity, first as Program Support Specialist and then Volunteer Engagement Specialist in January of this year. During the past two years, I’ve learned so much about building strong programs and the joys and challenges of social change work, forged strong relationships, and gained clarity on my professional interests and goals. I’ve also found a real community of genuine people and support at FNVW and in the Twin Cities, and I intend to continue building a home here. Thankfully, I won’t be going too far as I step into the role of Minneapolis/St. Paul Coordinator at Quaker Voluntary Service. I’ve been a part of the organization as we’ve weathered transitions, difficulties, and major successes and have gained a deep understanding and appreciation for FNVW’s programs. There is a great need for FNVW’s programs and compassionate leadership in our community, and I’m excited to see what comes next as you continue to grow your impact. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all of the wonderful people I’ve worked alongside: my fabulous and dedicated colleague Leah, the wise and supportive members of the Board of Directors, and of course, the passionate and talented volunteers. All of you have made my experience here so rich. Thank you for believing in and supporting me. I will hold FNVW close as I pursue new opportunities and look forward to staying connected.
