We champion nonviolence as the foundation for effective programs and actions to promote the dignity of every human being.

Note from Executive Director
The Power of Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) Workshops

With violence on the rise it's easy to feel hopeless. But the solutions are not as impossible as we may think. We all can play a role in building the safe and healthy communities we need to thrive. AVP workshops are a powerful tool available to anyone with the desire to grow their conflict transformation skills.

AVP workshops use the shared experience of both participants and facilitators to examine how trauma, injustice, prejudice, frustration and anger can lead to aggressive behavior and violence. And they provide real-life strategies for building safer communities and positively dealing with conflict in your life.

Commit to being the change you wish to see in the world by signing up for an AVP workshop or by making a $100 donation to FNVW to provide a scholarship for four AVP community workshop participants.

"I want to say that I never imagined AVP would have such an impact on my life. I joined the group not knowing how much of an inspiration it has offered my life, to know that there really are other people in the world that are similar to what I have been through. I have come to realize that sharing your life experiences can have a great impact on someone else's life. Thank you AVP." - Talented Tina

With Revolutionary Love,
Leah

Welcome Joy Krosschell!

FNVW is adding a small but mighty staff position to our team! Introducing Joy Krosschell, FNVW's new Communications and Data Specialist! Joy will be working 5 hours a week to help FNVW get the word out about our programs. She'll also help us capture and analyze program participant data so we can strategically grow our impact and better tell our story. Welcome Joy!

Joy Krosschell
FNVW Communications and Data Specialist

Note from Joy:

Hello! I am Joy Krosschell (sounds like: crow - shell), and I am the new Data & Communications Specialist. I’ve recently graduated from Southwest Minnesota State University with a B.A. in Psychology, and I am thrilled to be working with this organization. My role here not only focuses on spreading the word about FNVW’s many events and programs, but also works on outreach for their overarching mission— to bring forth the dignity of every human being by sharing alternative nonviolent actions. I’m honored to be working in this new position, and can’t wait to connect with all of the FNVW supporters!

Outside of work, I love going to the theater, being in theater productions, crocheting, and playing games (board games or Nintendo games!). Most of all, however, you can find me playing with my 11-year-old dachshund, Beanie, that my partner and I rescued almost 3 years ago.
